Responsibilities
The Jorgensen Family YMCA is looking for an energetic, outgoing team player to fill the position of swim instructor to help create a safe and positive atmosphere in and around the pool and conduct swimming instruction in accordance with YUSA guidelines.
- Connect: Build effective, authentic relationships with members, swim participants, and parents.
- Nurture: Ensure a safe and positive environment for the swim lesson participants to succeed in program goals.
- Inspire: Encourage the involvement of all swim participants.
Requirements
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- At least 16 years old.
- Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
- Certification from the YMCA or other accredited association preferred (i.e., LGI, and YMCA PYAL, etc.) or willing to be certified.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Salary: Part-time $11.50 - $12.00 hourly
Hours Available: Monday 4:00 pm-8:00 pm, Tuesday 5:00 pm-7:00 pm, Wednesday 4:00 pm-8:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am-12:00 pm, Sunday 4:00 pm-7:00 pm
