The YMCA of Greensburg is looking for fun, energetic, enthusiastic assistant summer camp counselors to serve their community this summer. Ideal candidates are team players; communicate effectively with parents, campers, and peers; and have patience, and creativity.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of activities for campers.
- Acting as a role model for the children and other counselors at all times.
- Being responsible for the safety of the children at all times, including being able to implement emergency procedures as necessary.
- Maintaining supervision during summer field trips.
Camp is held at the Greensburg YMCA.
Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- Must have a High school diploma or GED and one of the following: 15 – 30 Early Childhood Education credits from an accredited college or university and one year previous experience working with children (1250 clock hours) OR Two years previous experience working with children (2500 clock hours).
- Experience working with children in a professional setting preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to provide or acquire state criminal (Act 33), child abuse (Act 34), FBI, and sex offender registry clearances.
- Must provide physical exam and TB test completed within the last 12 month of hire.
- Must provide two letters of recommendation.
