The Assistant Facilities Director helps to ensure a safe and secure property by providing all aspects of the overall cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of our Torigian Family YMCA in Peabody. Day to day you will maintain the building complex through basic repairs, (plumbing, carpentry) preventative maintenance, and facilities cleanliness and sanitization. You will also be responsible for maintaining the grounds of the facility including snow removal and sidewalk care as well as lawn care and landscaping. This location has an active Day Camp in the summer months, so being proactive about landscaping, and grounds care are critical. This role requires flexibility and the ability to respond in the event of an emergency, hours may vary, but will typically follow a non-traditional Tuesday - Saturday schedule. You will be part of a team, serving as the #2 in the department.
To thrive in this position you should have previous experience in manual trades and demonstrable knowledge of building equipment related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repair. You are able to prioritize daily tasks while working both independently and as a facilities team. You have strong time management skills, build positive and authentic relationships through daily interactions with co-workers, members and the community.

Qualifications
• Must be 18 years or older with high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have valid MA driver’s license and/ or reliable transportation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, climb ladders, walk, shovel snow, plow snow, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity.
The work is performed both indoors and outdoors, and may require travel to various locations. While performing the duties of this job the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the branch location.
