Opening Lifeguard - Marblehead YMCA

 As a lifeguard at the Marblehead YMCA, you will help ensure the safety and well being of all swimmers, and promote a healthy and active lifestyle. On a regular day, you will oversee all aquatics activities, explain and enforce safety regulations and rules, monitor for any safety hazards, and assist in activities. You must be rescue ready at all times and implement emergency procedures as needed.  You will assess the swimming capabilities of everyone in the aquatics area and ensure individuals are not allowed in areas that place them at undue risk. 

To thrive in this position you must have the physical ability to respond in an emergency situation and be able to stay focused and present throughout the duration of your shift. You must enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people including children and adults. You are not afraid to take on responsibilities and are able to address concerns with visitors on the pool deck in a professional and courteous manner.  This is the ideal opportunity for those interested in developing leadership and social skills while giving back and to help create a stronger and safer community!

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or equivalent required, pursuit or attainment of a Bachelors degree in Aquatics, Recreation or related field preferred
• YUSA swim instructor/lifeguard certified preferred, but not required, training may be provided
• Schedule is Monday & Tuesday from 4:45am to 9am
