The YWCA of Western MA is dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering survivors. We provide a safe place for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Our programs and services include crisis shelter and transitional housing for survivors and their families, counseling, SAFEPLAN court advocacy, community education, supervised visitation, HIV education and testing, and vocational training. The YWCA provides services at several sites, including Holyoke, Northampton, Westfield, and our primary Springfield campus.

The YWCA is seeking a clinician for its Young Parent Program (YPP). The YPP clinician will provide therapeutic services onsite while creating a trauma-informed milieu. The Clinician will develop and implement a comprehensive plan that integrates clinical care, permanency planning, family therapy, and care coordination for YPP residents, while working closely with the Case Manager and contributing to case management treatment planning.

Department: Residential

Reports to: Director of Youth, Violence Prevention and Court Support Programs

Schedule: Full time, 37.5 hours/week; Flexibility to meet program needs

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: $55,000.00 / annually

Primary Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide consultation, facilitation, and training to YPP staff regarding ARC, methods, interventions, alternate techniques, while reinforcing the YWCA’s capacity for case management.
  • Coordinate crisis plans and responses with internal teams, community-based organizations, and/or first responders as appropriate.
  • Complete safety planning with clients, updating on an ongoing basis.
  • Complete and update support plans as needed.
  • Provide individual and group therapy to individuals and families for the YPP
  • Ensure thorough documentation and timely reporting of client services in accordance with organizational and grantor requirements.
  • Expand the YWCA’s organizational relationships with community-based service providers.
  • Must administer assessments and screening tools within required timeline.
  • Provide support and consultation to interns and volunteers, as needed.
  • Attend individual and group supervision meetings and maintain regular communication with the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Masters level degree in Social work, Psychology, or Mental Health Counseling
  • Experience working with youth, young adults and at risk populations
  • Experience working with adults and children survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault / abuse, and/or other forms of trauma required;
  • Competency in operating within anti-oppression and trauma-informed frameworks;
  • Must be committed to the YWCA’s mission and be able to actively and responsibly support its vision when working with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Exhibit sound judgment and ability to work independently and collaboratively with program staff, leadership, residents, and clients;
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills, including strong computer skills;
  • Must have access to reliable transportation, have a safe driving record, and be able to travel throughout Hampden County; and

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
