Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Front End Engineer to support our partner in building the next generation of cloud-native satellite mission operations software. Our mission is simple but ambitious: operate satellites like servers. We replace outdated, fragmented ground systems with an integrated, automation-driven platform used to design, test, and fly hundreds of satellites. This role is out of Arvada, CO.
As a Frontend Engineer, you’ll be at the center of this mission. Your work will define the interface operators use to command satellites—whether capturing Earth imagery, delivering broadband, or even docking in orbit. That massive wall of mission screens you see in NASA operations photos? You could design the next one.

What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain intuitive, high-performance UIs for satellite mission operations
- Develop reusable React components using TypeScript and modern frameworks (Next.js, Refine, etc.)
- Collaborate closely with designers using Figma and contribute to design prototypes
- Integrate with backend APIs (GraphQL and REST), focusing on efficient data-fetching patterns
- Apply strong UI/UX sensibilities to reduce user clicks and eliminate product training whenever possible
- Uphold best practices in frontend security, stability, and maintainability
- Contribute to CI/CD workflows (preferably GitHub Actions) and automated testing (Playwright/Cypress)
- Engage with real users to gather feedback and measure product effectiveness
- Participate actively in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and team-level engineering decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3 years of professional frontend development experience (exceptional nontraditional candidates welcome)
- Active U.S. Security Clearance (Secret required; TS/SCI preferred)
- Expertise with React and TypeScript, including modular component architecture
- Experience with modern React meta-frameworks (Next.js, Refine, Blitz.js, RedwoodJS, etc.)
- Strong product and UX instincts with the ability to simplify complex workflows
- Experience working in Figma and collaborating with design teams
- Hands-on API integration experience (GraphQL & REST)
- Familiarity with IAM solutions such as Auth0 or Okta
- Strong Git/GitHub skills in team-based workflows
- Understanding of CI/CD (ideally GitHub Actions)
- Experience with frontend testing frameworks (Playwright or Cypress)
- Commitment to quality, maintainability, and reliability in production systems
- TS/SCI clearance
- Experience in classified or regulated environments
- Experience with cloud security concepts

Salary : $100,000 - $160,000
