Warehouse Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Full-Time
Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for the physical and administrative handling of incoming and outgoing goods. This role requires a high degree of organizational skill, as you will be verifying shipments against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and ensuring all outgoing orders are packed and labeled for on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving Duties (The Inbound Process)

Unload Shipments: Safely unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting.

Verification: Cross-reference incoming items against packing slips and Purchase Orders (POs) to ensure quantity and SKU/Item accuracy.

Quality Inspection: Check for damaged goods or shortages and document discrepancies immediately.

Put-Away: Move received materials to their designated storage bins or racks and update the inventory system (RFSmart).
Shipping Duties (The Outbound Process)

Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick products from inventory using barcode scanners.

Packing: Securely pack items to prevent damage, choosing appropriate containers.

Logistics & Documentation: Generate shipping labels (UPS and Freight carriers using PaceJet software) and prepare Bills of Lading (BOL) for freight shipments.

Carrier Coordination: Communicate with drivers and ensure all scheduled pickups are completed daily.
Inventory & Maintenance

System Updates: Maintain real-time inventory accuracy by logging all movements in the computer system (NetSuite.)

Cycle Counting: Participate in regular stock counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records.

Safety & Organization: Maintain a clean dock area and adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with a Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as RFSmart, and shipping software (e.g., Pacejet, ShipStation, WorldShip).

Equipment Operation: Prior experience or certification on a forklift (sit-down or stand-up) and electric pallet jack is preferred but not required. Training will be provided if not already certified.

Attention to Detail: Ability to spot small discrepancies in part numbers or shipping addresses.

Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for interacting with carriers and management.

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour.
