JOB SUMMARY
A fast growing Property Management company is looking for a Property Accountant to join the team and grow together. The primary responsibilities of the Property Accountant involve handling various accountant tasks for our portfolio which includes properties in Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois. Will be responsible for Accounts Payable and Receivables. Electronic Banking and Bank Reconciliations.

WAGE/HOUR STATUS
Salaried (Exempt – not eligible for overtime)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts all business following company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Routinely performs the following duties:
- Reviewing and processing invoices
- Reviewing and processing payments for all company credit cards
- Posting Journal entries
- Tracking replacement reserves
- Tracks assets for each unit (carpeting, appliances, etc.)
- Maintain files and handle confidential material in a professional manner
- Handles issues related to Property Management software (Yardi) including changes, upgrades, fixes, additional training
- Performs additional duties as assigned by Controller and company management
QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet all physical requirements and be able to take direction.
The position requires excellent communication (verbal and written) skills, organizational skills, and the ability to type 35 wpm.
Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Yardi (or other similar property management and accounting software.)
Office equipment: An employee in this position must be knowledgeable and skilled in the use of computers, calculators, copy/fax/scanning machines, key machines, telephones, and answering systems.
Work hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week, typically 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This schedule is subject to change in accordance with market conditions, daylight saving time, and/or at the request of the Chief Financial Officer and/or company owners. Occasional weekends may be required.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
Property accounting background in residential property management preferred
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Predictable and regular attendance and ability to report to work on time are required.
