Position Summary:
Zip-O-Laminators is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our Shipping & Receiving team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of materials through our production and shipping areas. As a forklift operator, you will be responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks, supporting the Finish End and Pre-Glue departments, and helping maintain the high-quality standards our customers expect.
This role requires prior experience handling long and heavy materials — specifically lumber up to 20 feet or longer — and an understanding of forklift counterbalance techniques to move these loads safely and efficiently. It's a great fit for someone who takes pride in their work, values operational precision, and works well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate forklift safely and efficiently

Load and unload trucks with care to avoid product damage

Handle long-length materials (20 feet) using proper counterbalance techniques

Support production areas by moving materials and assisting with prep work

Maintain accurate shipping documentation and organized work areas

Perform daily safety checks and report any equipment issues

Assist with cleanup and basic maintenance during downtime

Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and team-focused work environment

Follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and company safety policies
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and maneuver up to 100 lbs

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and manual handling of materials

Repetitive use of hands and arms

Must be able to work in a loud industrial environment (PPE provided)

Qualifications
Qualifications:

Experience handling long lumber (20 ft or longer) required

Strong understanding of forklift counterbalancing for long/heavy loads

Prior forklift driving experience is required

Forklift certification preferred
