Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Distribution Planner, playing a key role in the Storm Protection Plan (SPP) aiming to build a Self-Optimizing Grid (SOG) to improve distribution system reliability and limit the number of unserved customers during sustained outages. This role involves deploying automated switching devices (ASDs), completing necessary capacity upgrades across our distribution system, and running Planning and Protection meetings with Zone Planners and DPAC engineers. Other responsibilities include CYME model validation, load allocation, proposing new ASDs, performing load flow and short circuit analysis, proposing recommendations to resolve circuit load imbalances, and identifying equipment or capacity upgrade recommendations.
Hard Skills
- Must be an ABET accredited engineer
- Must have CYMdist, CYME, ETAP, Synergi, or similar software experience for load flow analysis
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Application of the SOG Application Guide, Rev 1
- Application of the DEF SOG Analysis Process
- CYMDIST Analysis
- Creation and saving of CYME model
- Creating and/or Referencing relay settings files for all the proposed ASDs
- Data collection utilizing standard tools (FMS, PI, FLAP, GE DORA, AcSELerator, etc.)
