***Defense Project Manager****
Description:
The Project Manager will support the SAVIT team with project management support on a variety of development, prototyping and production programs. This person will coordinate and manage program schedules, deliverables, budgets, and timelines. This person will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to include government and industry representatives. Vendor engagement and coordination may be required. Communication, presentation, and organizational skills are required along with attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Occasional travel to support program needs.
Responsibilities will be as follows:
- Project management, coordination of tasks and activities, attendance at test events, coordination of visits/briefings, and preparation of reports and presentations.
- Ability to assist analytical/technical and engineering personnel with investigations, reviews, evaluation of data, materials, components and systems, problem solving and preparation of recommendations and implementation of solutions or modifications to meet customer requirements.
- Participation in technical discussions and reviews with the SAVIT Team and Government Customers.
- Using Microsoft Excel and Project to track project metrics.
- Communication with management, customers, suppliers, quality division and others to facilitate program success.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to obtain security clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- 5-8 years of experience in project management for a defense contractor or as a DoD civilian.
- Knowledge of Engineering development and manufacturing programs, ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Project Management experience and the ability to multitask and manage multiple engineering, prototyping and production projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate effectively, pay attention to detail and work as part of a team.
- Guide activities of less experienced engineering and analytical/technical personnel and other support personnel.
- Knowledge of DoD (keywords: Ammunition, Munitions, Weapon Systems, Picatinny, Army, Navy) programs, contracts, and requirements.
