Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced and personable Accounting Manager to oversee the full cycle of accounting for two affiliated business entities. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, guiding a small accounting team, and working closely with various internal stakeholders including operations and general managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting functions, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across two business entities
- Supervise and support the accounting staff in managing accounts payable, receivable, payroll reconciliation, and general ledger activities
- Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor and analyze budget performance; maintain budgets within accounting software and support detailed Excel budget models
- Prepare financial variance analyses and support fixed asset tracking, depreciation, and capital expenditure reconciliations
- Collaborate with HR and operations for policy implementation and training on financial procedures
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Support ad hoc projects and cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic work environment
- 10 years of experience in accounting leadership roles such as Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or Controller
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting principles and financial regulations
- Prior supervisory experience, with ability to coach and delegate tasks to junior team members
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting and point-of-sale software (experience with R365 and Toast is a strong plus)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
- Prior experience in the restaurant, retail, or hospitality industries highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Work Environment: Fully onsite, business casual dress code
