Job Description

Job Title : LTACH Collector

Location : Plano, TX

Schedule : Full-time, flexible hours after two-week training period

Industry : Healthcare (Inpatient Hospital Collections)

Hourly Pay : $22–$26 per hour (based on experience).

Type of Assignment : Contract-to-Hire (CTH).

Role Overview :

The LTACH Collector plays a critical role in the financial health of the organization by managing inpatient hospital collections. This role involves processing insurance follow-ups, analyzing denied claims, and ensuring proper reimbursement while adhering to organizational policies and payer regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

Insurance Follow-Up & Collections :

Manage inpatient claims for hospital services (UB-04).

Research and resolve denied claims, using templates for appeals when applicable.

Process edits and re-bills with accuracy.

Analysis & Decision-Making :

Identify root causes of denials, often requiring detailed research and quick decision-making.

Analyze payer contracts to calculate reimbursement amounts.

Documentation & Communication :

Contact insurance companies, patients, government agencies, and third-party payers for outstanding balances.

Verify billing information for electronic and manual claims.

Performance Metrics :

Maintain a volume of 18 claims per day.

Identify trends in denials with commercial and managed Medicaid payers.

Qualifications :

Experience :

2 years of experience in collections, specifically inpatient collections with UB-04 forms.

Strong understanding of hospital collections and reimbursement processes.

Familiarity with denial trends for commercial and managed Medicaid payers.

Skills :

Basic Excel and computer skills for reporting and analysis.

Ability to interpret contracts and perform basic math calculations.

Preferred Attributes :

Stability in work history (minimal job-hopping or gaps).

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to articulate processes clearly.
