The Cybersecurity and Network Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the design, installation, and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure the stable operation of IT assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing network hardware, software, and communication links. Additionally, the role involves managing a comprehensive cybersecurity program to safeguard IT networks, applications, and systems from external and internal threats.
Responsibilities
- Plan, acquire, and coordinate the installation of hardware and software across the network.
- Design and implement strategic plans to ensure network capacity meets current and future requirements.
- Manage the incident response plan, including periodic simulated exercises.
- Oversee vulnerability and incident reporting processes with metrics and dashboards.
- Monitor systems and respond to cybersecurity incidents.
- Stay current with cybersecurity technologies and standards.
- Conduct network penetration testing, attack simulations, and regular threat assessments.
- Provide education and training to reduce risks of phishing, social engineering, and malware.
- Implement measures to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Develop a strategic roadmap for cybersecurity improvements, balancing technology, operations, and budget.
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures, and training plans for network administration and appropriate use.
- Develop methodologies for testing and reporting network performance.
- Manage telephony systems and ensure optimal operation of network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
- Research and recommend network products, services, protocols, and standards.
- Negotiate with vendors and contractors for network and cybersecurity products and services.
- Approve and administer hardware and software upgrades.
- Establish best practices for maintaining end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Maintain communication with executives, stakeholders, department heads, and end users regarding network and cybersecurity activities.
- Practice network asset management, including inventory and documentation.
- Set service level agreements with end users.
