What are the responsibilities and job description for the Switchboard Operator position at Adirondack Health?
Position Summary:
Professionally answer incoming internal and external calls to the switchboard. Answer patient questions as appropriate and route phone calls to the appropriate departments.
Educational Requirements/ Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Candidate must possess excellent customer service skills.
- Telephone etiquette skills are mandatory.
- Professional appearance and proper speaking skills are needed to maintain good public relations with daily contacts.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and past experiences in professional offices or health care environments is desirable.
- Must be able to multi-task.
Computer skills preferred.
