Responsibilities
- Deliver frontline customer service and operational support to fluid, manufacturing, and ingredient customers across the Mideast Area (MEA).
- Sustain and improve customer satisfaction by ensuring raw milk quality, butterfat/milk weight variance, and delivery performance consistently meet or exceed expectations.
- Ensure customer issues at assigned plants are clearly communicated, promptly addressed, and fully resolved by the appropriate teams.
- Research and analyze methods to serve customers more effectively and cost-efficiently, including evaluating local market price competitiveness.
- Support sales and marketing leadership with negotiation preparation, pricing analysis, presentations, and special initiatives.
- Serve as the primary communications link between assigned customers and MEA management, logistics, hauling, field service, and accounting to ensure timely information flow and issue resolution.
- Continuously monitor milk quality, butterfat/milk weight variance, load rejections, and delivery performance at assigned plants to ensure compliance with customer receiving standards.
- Proactively identify emerging issues, notify appropriate MEA staff, and collaborate on resolutions.
- Research and respond to routine inquiries related to pricing, URC programs, milk quality and delivery, customer satisfaction, industry developments, product specifications and certifications, and DFA policies and programs.
- Analyze DFA’s cost to serve assigned plants and evaluate opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Recommend targeted cost-reduction initiatives to the MEA management team.
- Assist with marketing strategy development, contract negotiations, and pricing/invoicing for raw milk sales as needed.
- Monitor and assess emerging trends, regulations, and industry issues that may impact DFA’s ability to serve customers profitably and efficiently.
- Develop and recommend strategies to mitigate potential impacts.
- Act as a key support resource to sales and marketing leadership.
- Contribute data, insights, and materials for sales and marketing presentations to the Mideast Area Council (MEAC) and management team.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing peers on customer contract proposals
- Provide support to the membership team at local producer and team meetings.
- Maintain an understanding of plant production processes to identify opportunities for alternative products such as condensed milk, cream, and non-fat dried milk (NFDM) when applicable
- Participate in management meetings and special projects as assigned.
- Continuously build expertise in milk quality, marketing, pricing, dairy processing, food safety systems, logistics, and business process improvement through training, industry engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in agri-business, agricultural economics, business, marketing or a closely related discipline
- A minimum of five years of experience in a customer relations, sales or marketing role in a business environment
- Solid planning, organizational, analytic and decision-making skills
- Ability to solve complex problems and think strategically
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to speak/present in front of groups
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to interact with all levels of individuals from the plant receiver to the corporate executives
- General knowledge of the Federal Milk Marketing Order system

- Valid driver’s license with no significant restrictions or violations
