Akkodis is seeking a Propulsion System Calibration Engineer for a long-term contract job with a top automotive client in Auburn Hills, MI. Ideally looking for applicants with Calibration, Propulsion System/Motor, EV, Mechanical experience.
Pay Range: $38 - $41/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Role: Propulsion System Calibration Engineer
Location: - Auburn Hills, MI (Onsite)
Duration: 12 months contract (Extension)
Weekend (Thursday to Monday -> 9 am to 5 pm ; Tues/ Wed – off); 100% onsite
Job Description:
The Propulsion System Application Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing & validating propulsion system calibrations using Stellantis PCAL best practices to support critical calibration release milestones & vehicle development activities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and verify calibrations within the following functional areas: Powermoding, Thermal Management, LV/HV Charging Calibration, and other calibration features that fall in the PCAL perimeter of responsibility.
- Demonstrate proficiency in data collection, post-processing, and analysis during calibration release DVP activities.
- Analyze functional models to root cause & document controls & SW issues blocking calibration progress.
- Perform virtual and in-vehicle testing to achieve calibration maturity at each of the vehicle milestones of the program.
- Work closely with the center of competency to review both issues with functional area, integration, and follow guidance for calibration best practice and methodology.
- Support PCAL vehicle fleet/logistics activities.
- Require proficiency in calibration tools: ETAS/INCA, Matlab, Simulink, Vector as well as various platforms that interface with Dyno testing as well as HIL.
- The calibration engineer will have the ability to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday to support extended testing.
Required Qualifications / Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics from an accredited university
- Minimum of 3 year combined work experience in the area of powertrain development and/or calibration.
English: Advanced

- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of statistics and statistical methods
- Knowledge of software and equipment for propulsion systems calibration, MATLAB, measurement and analysis (Inca-Etas / Horiba)
- Knowledge of the dyno environment and tools related to it, such as: Puma, Cameo, Indicom, Concerto
- Experience with Matlab scripting and other useful data processing languages/tool sets ex: Python, JavaScript/NodeJS, etc…
