Akkodis is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a full-time job with a client in Clifton, New Jersey, United States.
Rate Range: $30/hour to $36/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Position Overview:
Client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our operations team in Clifton, NJ. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment vital to our laundry facility’s performance and reliability. Your work will directly support production efficiency, minimize downtime, and uphold safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all production and facility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, steam, and hydraulic systems.
- Maintain and service large-scale laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironers, conveyors, boilers, and air compressors.
- Interpret and follow equipment schematics, manuals, and company maintenance protocols.
- Support equipment upgrades, expansions, renovations, and cost-saving projects.
- Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills; mentor and support junior technicians.
- Operate and maintain electronic systems, including PLCs, motor controls, sensors, and circuits.
- Work confidently with industrial boilers, compressed air systems, hydraulic pumps, and control systems.
- Use powered industrial equipment, such as forklifts and scissor lifts, safely and effectively.
- Perform maintenance work indoors and outdoors, including in challenging weather conditions.
- Participate in emergency repairs and support 24/7 operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Associate degree in a technical field or a minimum of 2 years' hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, industrial motors, electrical systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and equipment manuals.
- Comfortable working at heights and traveling occasionally as required.
- Reliable transportation and ability to report to work punctually in all weather conditions.
