Posting Details
- General knowledge of the duties performed by a police officer
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to function effectively in stressful situations
- Patrol university property in order to detect and prevent criminal activities.
- Issue citation and arrest individuals committing unlawful activities on Alcorn States University property
- Secure buildings by locking them to prevent loss of property, vandalism and trespassing.
- Monitor traffic flow on our properties to reduce accidents.
- Assist other Law Enforcement Agencies when requested.
- Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Must demonstrate proficiency in human relations skills
- Must have at least a high school diploma or GED
- Must have knowledge of computer or some related skills
- Must be able to pass law enforcement officer academy
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Certified by the Law Enforcement Board of Minimum Standards
- Law Enforcement Officers currently certified by the Law Enforcement Board of Minimum Standards will be compensated based on prior law enforcement experience as a Certified Law Enforcement Officer.
