SUD Counselor

American Psychiatric Group is looking to hire a Substance Use Counselor part-time.

American Psychiatric Group is a mental health and substance use disorder treatment program, providing OP and IOP treatment in Baltimore Maryland. We are looking for a dynamic, caring, recovery-focused individual who can bring their clinical skills to the clients of our programs.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate substance use individual and group counseling sessions and psychoeducational classes
• Compose individualized notes for each client and document in ICANOTES
• Complete all required documentation within COMAR and CARF standards and time frames

Skills and Knowledge

• Must be able to accurately document client’s participation
• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Must have knowledge and ability to use counseling techniques to educate, elicit feelings, facilitate self-understanding and motivate the client
• Ability to communicate compassionately and effectively with clients and staff

Experience

• Must have group facilitation experience
• Must have prior work experience in the substance use disorder treatment field

Requirements

• Must be a certified SUD counselor
