Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring an AK RN license, 2 years of IR/Cath Lab experience, and Epic documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Position based in an acute hospital Interventional Radiology department
• Magnet facility with Level II Trauma designation
• Patient population includes those requiring interventional radiology and cath lab procedures
• Shift is 4x10 hour days, typically 7:00-17:00
• On-call required one day per week and every 4th/5th weekend (Friday evening to Monday morning)
• Approximately one Saturday per month required as part of scheduled shifts
• Floating required to EP or other IR departments within the facility and affiliates
• Use of Epic EMR is required
• Scrubs are provided
• Position involves providing skilled nursing care for interventional radiology and cath lab patients
• Travelers must float to all facilities as needed within the state
• Not open to block scheduling requests
• Holiday coverage is required for 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• The maximum assignment duration is 1 calendar year, followed by a required 6-month break before returning
• Limited time off may be approved; only one request per 13-week assignment
• Parking is free for travelers
• Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start and annually
  
  

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required at time of offer (pending accepted at submission)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent IR/Cath Lab RN experience required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Must provide at least 2 supervisory references from the last 3 years in a comparable setting
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility; local candidates not accepted
• Permanent staff must be separated for at least 3 months before applying as a traveler
• Only Hepatitis B vaccination accepted (no titers or declinations)
