Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for night shifts in a critical access hospital requiring at least two years of travel experience and a KS or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a Medical Surgical unit within a critical access hospital setting
- Night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
- Patient ratio is 1:6
- Required to work every other weekend
- Travelers may be required to float to different units
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
Requirements
- Active KS or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of two years of RN experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience is mandatory
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS (CPI preferred)
- Experience in colostomy care, feeding tube care, renal failure, IV therapy including managing ports and central lines, blood product administration, and peripheral/PICC line management
- Ability to administer medications such as heparin, insulin, and cardiac drips (no titration)
- Skills in caring for patients with CVA and substance withdrawal, and managing respiratory interventions including CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, ABGs, and oxygen delivery
- Experience with isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vacs
Additional Information
- Expected to independently manage responsibilities after the second shift
- Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
- First time travelers will not be considered for this position
- No charting system experience is specified or required
