Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Telemetry position requiring a valid NJ or compact RN license, ACLS, and recent cardiac/acute care experience.
Details
- Work in a hospital Intermediate Care/Telemetry Unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., three 12-hour shifts per week
- Patient population includes cardiac and telemetry cases
- Basic dysrhythmia monitoring required
- EPIC EMR system is used on this unit
- Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
Requirements
- Current NJ or compact state RN license in hand
- BLS and ACLS certifications are required
- 1-2 years of recent experience in cardiac/telemetry and acute care settings
- Basic dysrhythmia interpretation skills required
- PCCN certification preferred
- BSN preferred or enrollment in a BSN program
Additional Information
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients
- Apply and interpret telemetry leads, and manage high-risk intravenous cardiac medications
- Document patient care, interventions, and teaching in accordance with hospital policies
- Initiate and coordinate patient and family education, including discharge planning
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team and participate in patient care conferences
- Follow proper documentation and order transcriptions, including compliance with regulatory requirements
- Scrubs or professional attire must follow hospital guidelines
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Assignments are limited to a maximum of one calendar year; a 30-60 day break is required before returning
