What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Maintenance Technician position at ARANSAS COUNTY?
SUMMARY:
The Landscape Maintenance Technician position is responsible for maintaining property grounds by mowing and edging all grass areas around Aransas County facilities. This also includes maintaining all property landscaping beds, shrubs, hedges, and trees.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Public Facilities Maintenance Director.
Directs: This is a non-supervisory position
Other: Has frequent contact with County officials, department heads, County employees, and the general public
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/Examples of Work
· Mow and edge all Aransas County properties;
· Provide regular gardening maintenance such as weed pulling, herbicide spraying, soil preparation, planting, fertilizing and trimming;
· Trim all shrubs, palms and other trees on county property;
· Repair irrigation systems on county property, broken heads, or drip lines that need to be replaced;
· Pick up all litter and debris on property, including parking lots and fence lines;
· May be asked to perform other related duties as assigned;
· Repair Kiosk, signage and benches;
· And other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Acceptable Experience and Training:
· High School Diploma or GED
· One to two years relevant work experience
Certifications, Licenses or Other Requirements:
· A valid driver's license is required
· Texas Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicator License is required within 1 year
· Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
