Our client is a nationwide real estate investment trust and direct lender providing loan origination and servicing for multifamily, single-family rental portfolios, and other diverse commercial real estate assets.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly and quarterly close processes of various reporting entities to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Perform monthly accounting analyses and reconciliations, including investigation and resolution of discrepancies
- Review and approve staff-prepared journal entries
- Prepare quarterly balance-sheet and P/L flux analyses
- Assist with reporting to SEC and various governmental agencies
- Assist Director of Accounting with technical accounting research and documentation
- Lead coordination of external and internal auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at quarter and year-end
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting within a public accounting firm or real estate firm
- Strong analytical and accounting skills
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting principles and internal control
