Job Summary:
The Litigation Paralegal will support our attorneys in all aspects of civil litigation. This role involves case management, document preparation, and client interaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of civil procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions.
Conduct legal research and gather relevant information and documents.
Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
Manage and organize case files, including electronic document management.
Maintain and update case calendars and deadlines.
Coordinate and communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts.
Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits and other litigation materials.
Conduct initial case assessments and investigations.
Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings and coordinating court filings.
Monitor and respond to correspondence and discovery requests.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with a focus on civil litigation.
In-depth knowledge of civil litigation processes and procedures.
Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in specific areas of civil litigation, such as personal injury, contract disputes, or employment law.
Familiarity with e-discovery tools and processes.
