What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machining Division Estimator position at Ascentec Engineering LLC?
Description
As an Ascentec Machining Division Estimator you will work closely with team members across many departments to evaluate setup time, cycle time, programming time, DFM, GD T, potential risks, and overall fit of a part into Ascentec’s core competencies. The Estimator provides the critical inputs for generating an accurate quote in an extremely timely manner. This role requires a high level of machining and manufacturing background, mathematical and analytical knowledge, attention to detail, and general business savvy. The Estimator position reports to the Business Development Manager.
Requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To include but not limited to the following:
- Deep analysis of engineering prints and models with a thorough understanding of GD&T
- Estimating quote inputs [setup time, runtime, material, programming time, machine department alignment, etc.]
- Utilizing advanced software solutions to improve quote turn around, efficiency and accuracy
- Supporting the company’s ambition of delivering highly accurate quotes in a short timeframe
- Driving toward meeting customer targets, seeking out creative ways to do so when needed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- At least 5 years of prior experience in a Manufacturing environment
- 5 years of CNC machinist experience preferred
- 5 years of machine part estimation/quoting preferred
- Experienced in reviewing and interpreting Aerospace OEM manufacturing specifications
- Hungry to learn, grow, and improve oneself and the company
- Self-starter personality with great pride in their work
- Passion to find optimal outcomes for both the customer and the company
- Problem solving mentality
- Team-first approach to work, very effective cross-functional communicator
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis
- Creative thinking for methods of manufacturing, order of operations, etc.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work successfully in a collaborative, team-oriented organization, but also be able to work independently
- Ability to generate high quality work under tight deadlines
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
