Job Summary: The Nurse Extern provides patient care under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse, according to AuthoraCare's scope of service and within the Extern's scope of practice. The Nurse Extern is assigned to a RN Preceptor. Provides basic patient care according to the skills and competency guidelines set by the NC Division of Facility Services (NTI), and the North Carolina Board of Nursing, Nurse Aide Central Registry (NTII), if applicable.
Required: NC CNA Certification and must be a senior in nursing school
Program Overview:
- Dates of Program: May 12, 2025 - June 28, 2025
- Schedule: Work 32 hours per week: Monday - Friday (Four 8 hour day shifts)
- Work side by side with an experienced hospice nurse and shadow with other members of the interdisciplinary team
