The Tool Room Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day assistance in the tool area. Duties include but not limited to assisting with tool requests, tool transfers, and checking in tools. This position will be an assistant for all positions in the warehouse.
- Inspect new incoming tools for damage and log them into tool tracking system.
- Checking in tools coming back in from the field, tool transfers and keeping data in tool system current.
- Perform routine cleaning and organization of the tool area.
- Inspecting returned vehicles using the company inspection sheet and noting damage and needed repairs.
- Restocking of janitorial supplies.
- Run local deliveries or pick-ups as needed.
- Report all warehouse protocol violations to manager immediately.
- Report any building maintenance or building safety concerns to warehouse manager immediately.
- Cross train in all aspects of warehouse to qualify as a backup as needed.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Assist in stock pulls needed.
- Assist in putting stock away in the designated areas as needed.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of incoming delivery trucks as needed.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of B & I delivery trucks as needed.
- Assist in lawn and grounds maintenance as required.
- Previous warehouse experience a plus.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction); use hands, fingers, arms and legs fully; lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; stand for long periods of time.
- Comply with all B&I safety procedures.
- Drug test, background check and a clean driving record are pre-employment requirements.
