Our competitive intern program offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Our Audio Visual Team
Our Audio Visual (AV) team is part of our Hospitality team. The Hospitality team is truly the face of Baird. Those who walk in our doors can be assured they will have a professional and unforgettable experience, and that starts with Hospitality. The Hospitality team works together to cover various client-facing reception locations throughout our corporate headquarters, as well as organize and execute nearly 8,000 meetings and events annually in the Baird Conference Center. The AV team manages, plans, sets up and troubleshoots for all audio visual and technical needs for in person, virtual and hybrid meetings and events. At Baird, clients come first, and the Hospitality team sets the bar for how they should be treated.
Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
Located in our downtown Milwaukee, WI office, the intern must be able to work part-time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week, and full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are seeking a local student who can start in May 2025.

As An Audio Visual Intern, You Will
- Assist and ensure a smooth operation and flawless meetings/events in the Baird Conference Center, identify and implement process improvement in all areas of operation
- Assist with setting up equipment for small client meetings to large meetings and events and change over rooms with tight turnaround times
- Shadow AV Support Specialists with production of large events
- Manage inventory for all equipment throughout the firm
- Provide exceptional service to internal and external clients in person, over the phone and on video
- Work with and support our Video team on various projects from video production, videography and editing
- Gain insight into how Baird operates internally and externally, learn about the businesses and network with associates and clients alike
- Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology Management, Information Systems, Communication, Electronic Media, Audio Production, Theater or related degree. Targeting May 2026 or later graduation dates
- Technical aptitude, specifically audio visual experience – laptop connectivity and troubleshooting. Crestron knowledge a plus
- Interest in AV and developing a career within the AV industry
- Interest in video production, videography and editing; prior experience a plus
- Professional, calm and courteous with focus on providing excellent customer service
- Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel
- Exceptional organizational/time management skills and attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time and meet all deadlines
- A highly motivated, strategic thinker who takes initiative to learn and contribute to the team
- Gain exposure to and hands on experience in AV and hospitality, specifically in a corporate setting
- Experience working in a team environment, participating in daily meetings and evolving the role
- Highly visible role with opportunity to significantly expand professional network
- Team of associates passionate about achieving strong results for clients and while also giving to the communities where we live and work
