General Position Statement:
The Mortgage Loan Processing Leader is responsible for the leadership and oversight of the Mortgage Processing Coordinators and Appraisal Desk to provide support to the loan origination and processing team. This will be accomplished through promoting teamwork, implementing mortgage industry best practices and procedures, encouraging exceptional internal and external customer service and communication. The Mortgage Loan Processing Leader works closely with the Mortgage Loan Processing Manager to mentor, coach, and train in all areas of the processing department.

This will be accomplished through promoting teamwork, implementing mortgage industry best practices and procedures, encouraging exceptional internal and external customer service and communication. The Mortgage Loan Processing Leader works closely with the Mortgage Loan Processing Manager to mentor, coach, and train in all areas of the processing department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of mortgage loan processing coordinators and appraisal desk; act as a resource to answer general questions and guideline interpretations. Provide ongoing coaching on time management and productivity skills.
- Coordinate and assist with maintaining written policy and procedures, training, updates, and revisions with Mortgage Loan Processing Manager to ensure consistency among all processors and coordinators making recommendations to the Mortgage Operations Support Manager of ways to improve quality and efficiency.
- Function as a liaison between appraisal AMC and mortgage operations for appraisal disputes, questions and other issues as needed.
- Monitor agency and investor appraiser exclusionary lists.
- Maintain approved appraiser list for mortgage department.
- Maintain UCDP and EAD portal access and maintenance.
- Process appraisal transfer requests.
- Backup loan processors and coordinators.
- Monitor the processor and coordinator pipelines and dashboards along with origination volume levels to ensure loans meet established timelines, balance work as needed for maximum capability and prepare for anticipated production changes.
- Ensure loans processed adhere to BankPlus, regulatory, agency and investor guidelines to be sellable into the secondary market by reviewing investor suspense reports, internal and external audits, HMDA and quality control reviews as furnished by the Mortgage Operations Support Manager. Investigate and suggest appropriate resolutions for repetitive errors or deficiencies.
- Work with loan originator and underwriter to clear prior to closing conditions for final underwriting approval.
- Support a high performing culture through practicing teamwork and communicating with other team members timely and effectively.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including by not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc. Complete required compliance training and adheres to the bank’s standard of conduct.
- Participation in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program.
- Make referrals to the Mortgage Dept. and Wealth Management.
- Perform other duties as requested
- Ten years’ experience in the mortgage lending field
- Remote work experience required
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Previous experience with Encompass software preferred
- General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Work outside of regular business hours, as deemed necessary
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
