POSITION SUMMARY: It is the primary responsibility of the Facilities Porter to maintain the cleanliness of the property, both indoors and outdoors. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures. May perform maintenance duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Maintain the highest standards to ensure the quality and cleanliness in the Casino, Public areas, Offices and other required areas.
- Cleaning duties include dusting, window washing, and laundry. This is not an exhaustive list. The Porter must assume responsibility for keeping your assigned area maintained in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Clean between slot machines, remove papers, glasses, debris and discard empty bottles. Wipe down all slot machines in assigned area.
- Empty and clean ashtrays/urns, trashcans and recyclable containers.
- Keep all slot chairs/table chairs clean and straightened in assigned area.
- Remove spots and scuffs from all mirrors, doors, windows and walls in assigned area.
- Clean and stock bathrooms as assigned and as outlined in job procedures.
- Clean and stock employee breakrooms and service soda bar to include changing out empty soda syrup boxes (BIBs).
- Floor care to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and shampooing carpeted and tiled floors.
- Handle all cleaning products safely and use only for intended purpose. Read and understand Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals used in performance of position.
- Report maintenance needs to the Director of Facilities.
- Assist guests in a friendly, professional manner, providing service and information when possible. Direct guests to assistance when not able to assist.
- Clean bio-hazards in accordance with proper handling and disposal procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age
- Previous experience in Environmental Services, Janitorial or Custodial Services preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- None
COMPUTER OPERATIONS
- Basic personal computer skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
- Must be able to work with American Indian people and be sensitive to their culture.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts of Bear River Casino Resort.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Being able to multitask, concentrate and communicate in this environment is a must.
This is not a smoke free workplace. Although we employ state of the art filtration systems, cigarette smoke is in the work environment. Employee smoking is only permitted in designated employee areas during working hours.
