Imaging Specialist
MedStar Health is looking for a skilled Imaging Specialist to administer roentgen rays and radioactive substances to patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be able to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, and possess strong technical knowledge of imaging modalities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment, supplies, and medications as needed for patients.
- Clean and disinfect x-ray room and equipment.
- Prepare patient for x-rays, explain procedures, transfer patient to table, position patient, and assist patient at end of procedure.
- Follow prescribed techniques in administering general and specific x-rays.
- Adjust equipment, determine proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time.
- Arrange immobilization and support devices to obtain position of patient and adjust the lead shield and select proper films.
- Radiograph all incoming patients.
- Observe patient and machine during procedures and report unusual occurrences and record patient's condition.
- Maintain stock supplies and perform general office duties such as drafting reports.
- Assist chief technologist in maintaining radiographic technique charts.
- Transport patients efficiently.
- Follow infection control guidelines applicable to the section.
- Take mobile x-ray unit to patient's room or emergency room.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiology.
- Maryland State License.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) Registered.
Salary : $30,000 - $51,488
