Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Summary
Our organization is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to provide expert maintenance and repair services for a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, dump trucks, skid steers, and roll-off trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and heavy equipment through regular maintenance and repair procedures
- Efficiently troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure the smooth operation of various heavy machinery
- Conduct thorough inspections and preventive maintenance on a range of equipment, including excavators, dump trucks, skid steers, and roll-off trucks
- Replace or repair faulty parts and components as necessary to maintain equipment functionality
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities performed
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulations while carrying out maintenance tasks
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and systems
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Familiarity with HVAC systems in diesel vehicles
- The ability to solder and perform tire service is a plus
- Knowledge of tractor-trailer systems is beneficial
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
