Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with cooking of meals, suggesting menu and recipe changes to optimize resources, and preparing restaurant-quality food. Some experience preferred but we are willing to train! Air conditioned kitchen, free lunch and dinner provided for staff. Uniforms also provided.
FULL-TIME: We currently need coverage for our lunch and dinner meals/prep for approximately 10:30am -7pm, every other weekend.
Pay: Starting at $18/hr
*Hourly rate is negotiable, depending on experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
- Assists with preparation of all food according to the menu and standardized recipes in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES:
- Assists with preparation of all foods according to the menu and standardized recipes in a safe, efficient, and sanitary manner.
- Suggests menu and recipe changes so that leftovers and any over-stocked items are used in a timely manner.
- Ensures the proper preparation, portion, and serving of foods as indicated on the menu cycle and the standardized recipes. Tastes and prepares food to determine quality and palatability.
- Prepares food so that it is ready for service at a specified time.
- Coordinates and assists servers.
- Maintains CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent facility, staff and resident care information.
- Assures residents have the right to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and Civil rights, including the right to file complaints, are followed.
- Attends and participates in inservice education classes and on-the-job training programs as required. Attends and participates in workshops, seminars, etc. as directed.
III. OTHER RELATED COMPETENCIES:
- All other duties as may be assigned by Manager, or Dining Room Supervisor
- Follows all established safety procedures and precautions
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Standing, walking for long periods of time, bending and stooping; full range of mobility and motion, ability to lift/carry medium weights (up to 50 lbs.), and push/pull medium weight (up to 90 lbs.) ascend/descend stairs. Motor coordination and manual dexterity necessary to prepare food and operate food service equipment.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a minimum of one year doing food preparation. Must have a demonstrated stable work history. Must be able to read, write and understand English. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) necessary to keep work records, monitoring inventory control and supplies, and in recipe preparation. Must be able to adapt to a variety of job duties and situations; able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during staff shortages or emergency situations. Must be a team player.
Salary : $18
