Overview

We are seeking an associate who specializes in the care and maintenance of lawns and gardens, to help our customers achieve the healthy and attractive lawns and gardens of their dreams. By providing recommendations, suggestions, and expertise with exceptional customer service, you will make an impact in the community by helping our neighbors with their projects while working in a fast paced and fun environment. Our mission is to go the extra mile for our customers and look for associates who have the same attitude! This position reports to directly to the Garden Center Manager and Store Manager.
Qualifications
Minimum education requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum experience requirements:
• Lawn & Garden or related experience preferred but not required.
Position requirements:
• Skill in establishing priorities and managing both workload and time wisely
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to pay attention to detail, be highly organized and able to balance multiple priorities while working under critical deadlines
• Ability to communicate effectively with both co-workers and vendors
• Ability to work with a team
• Ability to follow verbal and written work direction
Essential Job Functions:
• Knowledgeable or have a willingness to learn about Lawn & Garden products: Pesticides, insecticides, rodenticides and fertilizers, garden tools and accessories.
• Grass seed and best practices for seeding or over seeding lawns and outdoor areas.
• Keep the department organized, fully stocked and priced.
• Coordinate, plan, schedule and organize training for store associates.
• Plan for and organize around upcoming seasonal changes and demands.
• Make recommendations to management related to product adds/changes/deletes.
• Develop plans to phase out slow moving or obsolete products and bringing in new and replacement products.
• Work with vendors to: Develop training plans, documentation, signage, and reference materials.
• Ensure product offerings are up to date and current with the latest products.

Full Time Non- Exempt Position with Benefits - $17.00 - $23.00/hour
