POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Food Services, the Food Delivery Driver is responsible for safely delivering food to Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows sites as routed. This position also completes deliveries & pickups, and transports items for special events and will calls as needed.
As part of the above, the Food Delivery Driver is also responsible to work hand-in-hand with kitchen staff to make sure food is at proper temperature and wrapped properly for transportation, as well as compliance with safety and sanitization standards as set by federal, state, and local laws, and BGCTM policies and procedures.
The Food Delivery Driver also assists in maintaining Club vehicles.
Due to insurance requirements, applicants do need to be 21 years of age or older and have a clean driving record.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Pick up and deliver Boys and Girls Club food and freight in a safe and timely manner.
- Assist Transportation and the Facilities Department with routine maintenance and upkeep.
- Assist Kitchen staff with food service, as necessary.

- Demonstrate skills both verbal and written to communicate with a diverse population of members, as well as adults.
- Provide a safe and secure environment and experience for all Club members.
- Able to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment at all times.
CERTIFICATIONS/ASSOCIATIONS:
- Must have a valid state Driver License.
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification required, or ability to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification within 90 days of employment.
- After hire, will receive mandatory paid on-line and in-person training, including Safety Skills, CPR/First Aid, etc.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- 6 months working driving experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Due to insurance requirements, must be at least 21 years of age or older and have a clean driving record.
- Must be able to perform duties which require walking, talking, hearing, standing, sitting, and/or bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel, run and/or climb.
- Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer, use the telephone and other office equipment.
- Must be able to perform surface and deep cleaning appropriately using potentially hazardous cleaners including bleach, as needed.
- Must be able to lift, move manipulate and or hold objects up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting or manipulating.
