Position Overview:
The Corporate Accounting Manager is a critical member of Bragg’s general ledger accounting team, reporting directly to the Corporate Controller. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day accounting activities, including recording transactions, managing balance sheet reconciliations, and leading the Accounts Payable team. As a key advocate for process improvement, the Corporate Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing internal controls, refining policies, and contributing to finance transformation initiatives across the company.
This position collaborates with Operations, Finance, IT, and other business partners to modernize Bragg’s finance operations and support company-wide strategic goals. By fostering teamwork, transparency, and high-quality execution, the Corporate Accounting Manager ensures the department’s success and aligns with Bragg Companies’ values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Operations Management: Oversee general accounting activities, including month-end close processes and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable Leadership: Manage the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and general ledger coding.
- Cash Flow Management: Review invoice batches and payment runs to ensure accurate postings and alignment with cash flow objectives.
- Team Development: Guide, support, and coach the Accounts Payable team to foster high performance and collaborative teamwork.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement enhanced procedures and internal controls to prevent fraud and reduce errors.
- Automation and Efficiency: Identify opportunities for process automation within accounts payable and finance operations to improve efficiency.
- Financial Reporting: Compile and analyze financial data to provide actionable insights on payments, expenses, and cash flow.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain positive relationships with suppliers, managing vendor applications, tax forms, and documentation.
- Audit and Compliance: Support annual audits and oversee IRS 1099 processing to ensure compliance with regulations.
- System Administration: Manage the technology and tools associated with accounts payable functions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with expertise in accounts payable, general ledger functions, or financial analysis.
- Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Microsoft D365 or Sage.
- Strong problem-solving and leadership skills, with the ability to set clear priorities and foster a collaborative environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in the construction industry or knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- Background in implementing financial systems and process improvements within large organizations.
- Audit experience and familiarity with regulatory compliance.
Work Environment:
- This is primarily an office-based position, with occasional travel to regional offices as needed.
- Travel may be required for training sessions, resolving issues, or reviewing accounting processes.
- The role involves prolonged periods working on a computer and phone, with occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
Reporting Structure:
The Corporate Accounting Manager reports directly to the Corporate Controller and collaborates with teams across Operations, Finance, and IT to support company and departmental objectives.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $120,000 - $135,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
