Internal- Kindergarten ELL Screening at the SRPIC

To:All Teaching and Administrative Personnel Brockton Public Schools From:Dr. Kathleen Moran, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Subject:Kindergarten ELL Screening at the SRPIC Dates:4:00-7:30pm on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays beginning April 15, 2025 – June 26, 2025 Location:School Registration and Parent Information Center, 60 Crescent Street The Bilingual Department and the School Registration and Parent Information Center are looking for ESL teachers to assess incoming kindergarten students with the WIDA Screener on Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons beginning on Tuesday, April 15th. Teachers will be scheduled each Tuesday and Thursday to administer the assessment, discuss the results of the assessment with the parents/guardians, make a program recommendation, and complete the necessary documentation. Priority will be given to applicants who can commit for a minimum of one day a week for four weeks and a maximum of the entire spring semester. QUALIFICATIONS: 1.ESL certified Teacher 2.Experience administering and scoring the WIDA Screener Assessments 3.Ability to commit to consecutive Tuesdays or Thursdays (one-month minimum commitment) 4.Ability to work collaboratively with peers 5.Attention to detail DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Attend Orientation Session/certify as K WIDA Screener administrator if necessary 2.Attend scheduled Tuesday or Thursday evening SRPIC sessions 3.Administer WIDA Screener to entering Kindergarten students 4.Score WIDA Screener Assessment 5.Discuss score results and program recommendations with parents and the ESL teacher of SRPIC COMPENSATION:According to Contract Fund Code to be Charged:ELL Requirements
