Job Title: Scrum Master
Long Term Contract
Remote (Must be located in Denver, Charlotte, or St. Louis)
Pay: $65-$70/hr (Negotiable depending on experience)
Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Scrum Master with deep enterprise experience and a strong background in agile practices to lead cross-functional software development teams for a critical Network Inventory Management platform. This platform supports telecom construction efforts by enabling field operations teams to scan and track assets in real time using QR-coded equipment.
This is not a role for someone who simply facilitates standups — we’re looking for a Scrum Master with grit, confidence, and the ability to influence product, engineering, and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate all Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews) with purpose and structure.
- Partner directly with product and engineering teams to define, refine, and deliver on the roadmap.
- Analyze team velocity and burndown metrics using Jira and communicate progress and risks clearly to leadership and project management.
- Provide candid, proactive feedback from QA, software developers, and technical analysts to the leadership team.
- Support product teams in learning and adopting Agile/Scrum best practices and mindset — act as an Agile coach when needed.
- Translate release planning documentation from Confluence (chalk pages) and extract/report on user stories using Jira macros.
- Ensure the team is autonomous, accountable, and continually improving sprint over sprint.
- Possibly lead a transition to SAFe Agile and test adoption effectiveness with the team.
- Ensure simplicity and clarity in tools and processes — keep Jira-based tracking straightforward but insightful.
- Foster a culture of trust, transparency, and delivery within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
Required Qualifications:
- 7–8 years of full-time Scrum Master experience), preferably in enterprise web applications or telecom.
- Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with technical development teams.
- Expert-level experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Proven ability to generate, interpret, and communicate metrics (velocity, burndown, throughput) to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Thick-skinned and assertive — able to handle direct conversations, push back when needed, and manage high-stakes discussions.
- Able to teach Agile frameworks to product and technical teams, fostering continuous improvement and shared accountability.
- Comfortable giving and receiving direct, constructive feedback.
Salary : $65 - $70
