Training Specialist – Retail Operations & Finance Systems
Duration: 18-24 months
Location: Hybrid, east side/Lawrence
Position Summary
Brooksource is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Training Specialist to support the development and delivery of training programs for enterprise-wide systems in a dynamic retail environment. This role will be a key contributor to a major finance transformation project integrating Workday, and will be responsible for creating engaging, role-based training content for both store-level and corporate users.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing ERP training materials, including quick reference guides, micro-learning content, and facilitating webinars. Familiarity with tools like Captiva, Oracle UPK, and other instructional design platforms is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable training programs tailored to retail and corporate finance roles including but not limited to: accounting, finance, HR etc.
- Support training efforts for Workday Financials, including modules for budgeting, procurement, and reporting.
- Develop ERP training materials such as: Quick reference guides, Micro-learning snippets, Interactive simulations and tutorials
- Create realistic training data and scenarios for hands-on learning.
- Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather core information and translate it into effective training content.
- Facilitate meetings to understand system functionality and business processes.
- Conduct live and virtual training sessions, including webinars.
- Coordinate with internal trainers and external partners to ensure consistent delivery.
- Track participation, collect feedback, and assess training effectiveness.
- Utilize platforms such as Oracle UPK, Captiva, Articulate, or similar tools to develop and manage training content.
- Maintain and publish content via a centralized Knowledge Center or LMS.
- Support project timelines, scope, and budget in collaboration with the project management team.
- Manage training vendors and contracts (up to $500,000 annually).
- Regularly update training materials based on system changes and user feedback.
- Recommend process improvements and enhancements to training delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing ERP training materials (Workday experience strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with instructional design tools such as Oracle UPK, Captiva, Articulate, or similar.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, especially in webinar and virtual training formats.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, Finance, HR, and Operations teams.
- Experience in a retail or consumer-facing organization is a plus.
