What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Technician position at Brunel?
Burnel is recruiting Cost Technicians to work with our major Oil and Gas client in Midland, TX for initially 1 year contract.
Main Responsibilities:
- Act as liaison between Global Projects, Facilities Engineering, and Maintenance teams.
- Maintain and update the Operations Readiness Project list and deliverables.
- Support development and adaptation of Operations Readiness deliverables using templates.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Field Ops, SSHE, Maintenance, Accounting) to align deliverables.
- Develop and improve tracking tools and dashboards (SharePoint, Smartsheet, etc.).
- Support Compression Commissioning team with cost tracking and scheduling.
- Prepare cost forecasts, trend reports, and budget monitoring for commissioning projects.
- Identify deviations, overruns/underruns, and recommend corrective actions.
- Promote strong communication and collaboration within the New Operations Team.
- Build and maintain dashboards and management reports for readiness activities.
Requirements:
- 3–7 years of experience in Oil & Gas.
- Prior experience supporting Planning in Operations & Maintenance teams.
- Experience with Start-up and Capital Project handover is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Smartsheet (required).
- PowerBI proficiency is a plus.
- Strong skills in cost estimating, scheduling, and project controls.
- Ability to manage and coordinate cross-functional activities.
- Adaptable and organized with attention to detail.
