A statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is being REQUIRED to obtain information regarding each applicant's knowledge, skills, and abilities as related to the Correctional Counselor I position.
Applications received without an appropriate SOQ based on the instructions below will be rejected for being incomplete and will not be considered. Additionally, resumes, cover letters and all other materials will not be considered as a response to the SOQ.
No more than two pages, justified, single spaced, 12 point Arial font and use a standard letter-sized paper with 1" margins. Your document needs to be titled "Statement of Qualifications" and your full name must be typed on the top of each page. In your SOQ, describe your experience / skills as it relates to the questions below. Number your responses to match the question, and each question must be answered separately.

- Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

- Articulate your reason for promotion and the contributions you will make to the CCWF team should you be chosen for the position.
- Please explain your knowledge of Correctional Casework Procedures and how you would maintain, organize and prioritize an ongoing caseload to perform the duties of a Correctional Counselor I.
