Under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist II (ITS II) will independently and as part of a team, perform functions within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), Enterprise Information Services, Infrastructure Services, Endpoint Management and Monitoring (EMM) Unit. The ITS II will be the product lead over CDCR’s System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Tanium, and Windows Defender EndPoint products. The ITS II will provide 3 rd level technical support and must have extensive technical knowledge and experience in designing, planning, implementing, modifying, troubleshooting, managing, and recovering SCCM, Tanium, and Windows Defender EndPoint products to meet CDCRs enterprise and Offender Education needs. The ITS II demonstrates specialization in infrastructure systems administration/operation as well as have expert knowledge and ability to apply architectural concepts relative to application server systems. The ITS II demonstrates true proficiency with respect to data processing concepts, practice, methods and principles along with an in-depth understanding of current and evolving industry trends, security and standards. The ITS II develops and ensures availability of infrastructure services for an enterprise environment for departmental business applications and system infrastructure management and ensures new and current applications/systems integrate with existing infrastructure resources/architecture. The ITS II works as a technical lead solving the most difficult problems related to systems, applications servers, network servers and network security policies. The incumbent may also prepare work plans, written reports, and presentations. Travel to institutions is not expected but may be required. After hours support of technical systems may also be required due to operational need.
