Hours : 8 : 00 - 5 : 00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week (12-months following school calendar year through September 30, 2027)
The Restorative Practices Intervention Specialist (RPIS) will reduce rates of In-School Suspension (ISS) and Out of School Suspension (OSS) for Black males and Students with Disabilities (SWD) in the transitional grades of 6th and 9th, due to bullying and harassment-related violence through the proposed Pathways to Success program. The RPIS is responsible for the on-site implementation, integration, and collaboration of the Pathways To Success (PTS) program, system-wide within the Kannapolis City School district. Case management duties will focus solely on Black males and Students with Disabilities (SWD), which is determined by an active school-district implemented Individual Education (IEP), in grades 6th and 9th.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Serve on the KCS Multidisciplinary Teams (MDT)
- Coordinate case management services for 6th and 9th grade Black males and Students with Disabilities (SWD) within the Restorative Practices framework
- Collaborate with classroom teachers on specific restorative practices strategies
- Facilitate referral, as deemed necessary for students' success, to mental health treatment services available at CHA or with partnering agencies and services
- Conduct daily in-person check-ins with assigned students to reinforce positive decision making
- Acquire the TGFV training and Train-the-Trainer certification
- complete the Restorative Practices Teacher Academy (RPTA) lessons
Education / Experience : Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Education, Social Work or other Human Services related field. Two years of experience in public health, school-based and human services.
License : Valid NC driver's license
