What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Front Desk position at Career Strategies?

  • Patient Reception:
    Welcoming patients in person and on the phone, verifying appointments, and directing them to the appropriate area. 
  • Appointment Scheduling:
    Managing patient schedules by booking appointments, rescheduling as needed, and sending appointment reminders. 
  • Patient Registration:
    Collecting patient information including demographics, insurance details, and medical history. 
  • Insurance Verification:
    Checking patient insurance eligibility and verifying benefits. 
  • Billing and Payments:
    Processing patient payments, co-pays, and collecting outstanding balances. 
  • Medical Records Management:
    Maintaining patient records, updating information, and retrieving files as needed. 
  • Phone Management:
    Answering incoming calls promptly, directing calls to the appropriate staff, and taking messages. 
  • Administrative Tasks:
    Filing paperwork, maintaining office supplies, and completing other administrative tasks as assigned. 
  • Patient Support:
    Answering basic medical questions, providing directions to the office, and addressing patient concerns. 

Required Skills:
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact positively with patients 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage appointment schedules effectively 
  • Proficiency in medical office software and electronic health records (EHR) systems 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures 
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient informatio
