Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

The FP&A Manager reports to a VP of Finance that prides himself on mentorship, employee support, and consultative leadership.

The FP&A Manager contributes to a team who collaborates, influences, and partners with business units to present an accurate and unbiased view of operating expense plans, supported by financial analysis and accompanying profitability/productivity metrics. Drives enterprise alignment and accountability through cross-functional planning and serves as key financial advisor to Executive leadership and Department heads by enabling informed budget and investment decisions. Must possess leadership skills along with an analytical and collaborative mindset to drive innovative ideas and breakthrough solutions.

This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to influence all levels of management while providing clarity and necessary context on key business drivers impacting business performance against financial and operational targets. Must be an excellent communicator with the ability to verbally and visually present data, analysis, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner to executive leadership.

This position leads the segment operating expense planning & analysis function. Opex team responsibilities include but are not limited to, Department planning & forecasting, Enterprise workforce oversight (tracking/reporting/analysis), and oversight of the team’s responsibility for business case development & analysis.

This position requires the ability to lead team members, lead strategic business discussions for highly complex areas, and provide periodic updates to executive leadership on operating expense & workforce results.

What you’ll be doing

Strategic Expense Management – Financial Planning and Analysis

• Lead role managing the OPEX Planning function for all areas. This includes ensuring alignment across cross-functional areas to ensure Opex activities align with company initiatives and strategic objectives
• Challenge assumptions, validate rationale, and identify risks and opportunities in the plan and forecasts. Integrate multiple views and perspectives into a consistent forecast narrative to clarify complex and involved situations
• Lead, partner, and collaborate with the Opex team, other FP&A groups, and department leaders to manage the development of short- and long-range plan deliverables (monthly forecasts and outlooks, quarterly forecasts, annual plan, 5-year plan, etc.)
• Produce and enhance executive level operating financial statements while highlighting key risks and opportunities to help optimize operating expenses
• Support the team’s responsibility to provide financial and analytical insight and guidance for project cost benefit analysis/business cases (utilizing NPV, ROI)

Special Projects & Ad-hoc Analyses

• Coordinate and deliver on special projects that clearly add value:
• Lead discussions with stakeholders to understand, provide FP&A guidance, influence desired outcomes, and ultimately drive results
• Support the Opex team’s complex business challenges and provide consultative, advisory guidance when needed

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 4 years of experience in a relevant field such as finance, accounting, or treasury
• Solid financial and analytical skills
• Experience/Aptitude for Microsoft Products, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Added bonus if you have

• Master’s degree preferred
• 1 years of experience in a leadership role
