What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant position at CentraCare?
80 hours every 2 weeks | Hours between 6AM-5PM | Monday-Friday.
This position has the responsibility of performing a limited test menu in the laboratory in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and serology. This position is responsible for specimen collection, specimen processing, test performance, and for reporting test results for acute care (hospital), long term care, clinic and reference lab specimens. Performs tasks that are necessary to support pre-testing and post-testing functions within CentraCare Laboratories. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Patients of all ages served.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prior experience in a similar role.
- Prefer graduate from or in the process of pursuing a degree from an accredited laboratory or medicine-related program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills necessary.
Salary : $40,800 - $51,600
