What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enforcement Officer position at Centre County, Pennsylvania?
Summary of Position
Monitor Support Orders for compliance.- Take appropriate enforcement actions upon individuals not complying with Support Orders. This includes contacting payors, payees, employers, attorneys, other Courts, and other agencies along with numerous automated enforcement remedies.
- Conducts investigations to assist with the location of absent parents by interviewing the plaintiff, police, other family, previous employers, known associates and other individuals with knowledge of the defendant.
- Prepare delinquent cases for Hearings before the Court and appear at those Hearings to present facts and/or testimony.
- Investigate problems that arise during the course of Support cases.
- Prepares reports on the outcome of investigations and enforcement actions, analyzing information gathered and recommending appropriate contempt sentences to the Court.
- Provides supportive services to assist clients in their personal, social and economic adjustments to the community.
- Maintains contact and schedules enforcement conferences as necessary with clients in order to facilitate payment of support.
- Navigate the Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement Computer System in order to maintain data integrity, generate appropriate enforcement actions and Court documents in order to successfully enforce the support case.
- Must learn and maintain vast knowledge of Pennsylvania and Federal statute, Rules of Civil Procedure and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of Federal, State and personal information contained within case files, including Internal Revenue Service requirements, in the Domestic Relations Section, both hard copy and electronic.
- Enforces Court orders and makes or assists in arrests/rearrests of delinquent payers when necessary.
- Collects fine and costs.
- Works as part of enforcement team and DRS operations as a whole in order to meet all Federal Performance Standards as outlined by statute.
- Interacts with internal departments and outside agencies and physicians, insurances, etc., in regard to facilitating payment of support by defendant.
- Transports clients/prisoners to conferences and hearings as needed.
- Provides courtroom and Domestic Relations security.
- Participates in ongoing staff training.
- Acts as a community resource contact as needed.
- Must maintain firearms qualification and certifications as required by department standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Training Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or related field, OR post-secondary education, specialized training and experience. Two to four (2-4) years experience in law enforcement, human services, or courts required.

Special Requirements
Valid PA operator's license required. Certified in Act 120, Act 235 or completion of Deputy Sheriff training preferred, but alternative training that meets the department's enforcement needs may be acceptable. Must complete firearms qualification.
