Catering Sales Manager, The Charleston Place Hotel
Job Overview:
We are seeking an individual to join our dynamic and exciting catering team. We are looking for someone with excitement and dedication in serving our guests. The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for managing and developing business for the wedding and corporate markets. They will guide their clients through the planning process and ensure strong communication throughout the hotel for a successful and spectacular event.
The ideal candidate has previous Catering Sales experience in a luxury hotel. They are creative and analytical in their approach to business and are focused on service innovation and driving business performance. This position reports to our Director of Catering.
In this role there is an opportunity to work with our other hospitality assets as we grow the portfolio of Beemok Hospitality Collection.
Position Summary:
- Works with a designated client base building strong relationships and finding new/repeat business.
- Delivers exemplary client experience through strong listening skills and understanding their needs.
- Works in partnership with our culinary team on menu planning and product innovation.
- Maximizes revenue potential through up selling and ensuring effective communication both written (Resumes and BEOs) and personal contact with all departments for the success of events.
- Works with Banquet team in delivering client satisfaction for all events.
- Takes a proactive selling approach to social and corporate events and builds strategic plans.
- Active participant in building the annual catering marketing plan.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of hotel facilities, services, and pricing.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience, 2-3 years in event planning with strong attention to detail.
- High level of creativity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work a variety of hours due to events being on weekends as well as weekdays.
- Ability to negotiate, organize, delegate and work under pressure.
- Demonstrated aptitude for problem identification and solving.
- Proficiency in Delphi
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to operate in a team environment and develop relationships cross divisionally.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
